My views on both tend to be cynical. However, that said, I hope our new president is given the opportunity to succeed. We need his brand of optimism now more than anytime in our lifetime. He's the first Democrat presidential candidate I've voted for since Jimmy Carter, and all of us over 40 remember how well his presidency turned out. "I'll never lie to you, and you can depend on it."
