I'm eagerly awaiting your post on feral cats. Maybe that will inspire me to write about our free-roaming dog problem.

We also have cat issues. We have plenty of nearby feral cats that live fairly short, desperate lives that end under the wheels of a car. The cats occasionally take a wild bird in our yard. Occasionally the cats stalk our chickens. I like animals, and I have a cat, but I don't want other cats eating my chickens and scaring my rabbits. Fortunately, we can trap and scare most cats so that they don't want to come back. Unfortunately, I sometimes need to come up with a more permanent solution for animals caught in the act of stalking or attacking chickens, and it makes me angry that I have to do this because somebody didn't neuter and / or control their pet. Why should the responsibility be mine? Why do people who "love" their pets leave them to roam and are surprised when their pet becomes ill or is killed by another animal or a car?
