The Wythe County Democrat Party plans to hold a homecoming get together tomorrow evening (Thursday, July 21,) at Elizabeth Brown Park beginning at 5:30 pm. County residents are invited to a hot dog supper and an evening of entertainment featuring music by Sam Gleaves and the political satire of Marsha Turpin. The highlight of the evening may very well be a cake baked and decorated by Supervisor Gene Horney. Those who have tasted Supervisor Horney’s cake say it’s “to die for.”
Folks, this fall’s election is an important one for this county, and it is incumbent upon every voter to make intelligent choices when it is time to step into that voting booth. Tomorrow evening is an excellent opportunity to meet the democrat candidates in a relaxed setting and find out where they stand on the issues. Besides, come Friday when the whole county is asking, “Did you get a piece of Gene’s cake,” don’t you want to answer yes?

Is it true Robert Kegley lied about the Chamber and United Way????
I don’t know, when are you going to stop beating your wife? Maybe you should elaborate.
To set the record straight, as Chair of the Mass Meeting I can assure you that Robert Kegley or no one else stated that Robert has been endorsed by the United Way or Chamber of Commerce. The statement made during his nomination was that he has chaired both organizations.
Ron I don’t have a wife. I am a lesbian.
Good for you. When are you going to stop beating your partner? Instead of attempting character assassination thru innuendo, try sticking to the facts.
Fact is Kegley is going to loose due to the fact he exaggerates the truth and is very inexperienced. She likes it rough what can I say??
Could you give us an example of when Mr. Kegley has exaggerated the truth?
His lie about his backing by the Chamber and United Way. Loved CM Walters commentary in Saturday’s Enterprise.
Don’t even wanna elaborate on the lack of experience. LOL!!
Walters merely pointed out that the United Way does not endorse candidates. Mr. Kegley never said that the United Way endorses him. I should point out that Mr. Kegley was Chairman of the United Way in 1998, and led the Chamber of Commerce in 2004. As far as experience is concerned, longevity has absolutely nothing to do with ability.
Mr Dees and ignorance is bliss. I don’t think chairing an organization makes you experienced. 30+ years experience however does. The damage was done long before the articles in the Enterprise. Kegley was hand picked by Sis to run for that office and I hope they both loose.
